Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will join Kentucky Jobs with Justice in a special social media event to answer questions and discuss the “Ban the Box” ordinance which is pending before the Metro Council’s Labor and Economic Development Committee.

The Tweetchat for “Ban the Box” will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd beginning at 8:00pm.

“Social media is yet another way of hearing from the community on an important issue that affects jobs,” says Scott. “You don’t have to drive to a meeting to ask questions and it’s a chance to get an update on the ordinance from the people who support it.”

"Kentucky Jobs with Justice strongly supports the 'Ban the Box' ordinance pending before Metro Council," said Bonifacio Aleman, Executive Director of Kentucky Jobs with Justice. "We see hosting this tweetchat as a way to elevate community awareness of the Ordinance and are glad that Councilwoman Scott could join us in this online chat."

Scott is a co-sponsor of the measure.

If you wish to participate in the online discussion go to Twitter and follow the #BanTheBox hashtag.
