Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will bring the favorite works of a very special author with her to area elementary schools in District 1 when she shares the stories of Dr. Seuss with students on Friday, February 28th.
“I am looking forward to my third year of reading Dr. Seuss to students in District 1 elementary schools in celebration of this wonderful author's birthday,” says Scott.
Dressed in Dr. Seuss garb, the Councilwoman will visit six elementary schools as a way to energize and excite children with reading some of the classics of the famed Children’s author.
Her reading schedule is as follows:
10:00am Wellington Elementary School
10:45am Kennedy Montessori
11:30am Carter Elementary
12:15am Maupin Elementary
1:00pm Foster Elementary
1:45pm West End School
“We all know that reading is, indeed, fundamental to our children's educational development and that is why I regularly partner with District 1 schools to share a good book,” says Scott. “If you would like to read to students in need, please volunteer with Every 1 Reads through Jefferson County Public Schools.”
