Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will once again join volunteers for a special holiday event to help some 500 families stay warm in Metro Louisville this winter.
On Monday, December 23rd, Feed the City will hold a special Christmas New Coat Giveaway between 11:00am and 2:00pm at 1100 South 26th Street.
“I am honored to, again, work with Feed the City this holiday season to meet the needs of families in the Parkland neighborhood,” says Scott. “I worry constantly about those in our community who may not have the means to stay warm during the winter. That is why this program is so important.”
During Thanksgiving, Feed the City signed up the 500 families in need of new coats, gloves and toboggans for the winter.
Texas Roadhouse and River City bank joined the organization as primary sponsors to ensure the clothing is available. Other sponsors include: Allstate, Rumpke, Buckner Real Estate, Kentucky Harvest, Waldon & Associates, Sam’s Club, Walmart, LG&E, Whole Foods and The Fresh Market.
“I would encourage everyone to follow the lead of Feed the City and these sponsors to make an impact in our community this holiday season by doing what you can to help those in need,” says Scott.
