Louisville –Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) and the Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Community Meeting to discuss the concerns of residents of the Shanks Lane and Richmont Neighborhoods on Wednesday May 14th at 5:30pm.
“We have had several issues recently with summer approaching and with the development of new homes around Shanks Lane,” says Scott. “I want the people who live in these neighborhoods to be updated on how we will handle what has become concerns about blight, stray animals and youth programs.”
The Councilwoman has invited Community Services and Revitalization to inform residents of the demolition of the long vacant apartment buildings that blight the neighborhood on Shanks Lane.
Louisville Metro Animal Services will address how stray animals will be handled and how owners can be held accountable and responsible for their pets if they wander the neighborhood without leashes.
There is also a concern about available activities for young people in the area. School will be letting out soon and Scott has asked Safe Neighborhoods to be at the meeting to let residents know what youth programs can provide activity for the youth.
“I want to invite everyone in the Shanks Lane and Richmont area to come out and ask questions,” says Scott. “We want to make sure everyone knows how we plan to move forward in each of these areas.”
The Community Meeting will take place at the Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church at 3700 Shanks Lane.
