Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) is putting out the call for donations from the public to help the Louisville Broncos Football team as they reach out to young people through sports.
“We are focusing intently as a city on finding ways to get our young people involved in positive activities, the Louisville Broncos offers us a chance to help children through sports,” says Scott.
The goal of the Broncos program is to provide young people a way to perfect their athletic ability and develop a sense of regional and national competition. Another goal of the program is to help build self-worth, sportsmanship, and success in school and in the community.
“As you can imagine not all families can afford to pay the entry fee to keep the league going and they may not be able to afford the uniform or equipment necessary to compete,” says Scott. “That is where we as a community can be more supportive with a contribution to the team.”
In the past, the Broncos have used car washes, bucket shake and raffles to raise extra money. They now have a partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods to raise funds. If you would like to help out please donate to the Louisville Broncos Dicks Sporting goods matching grant. Please visit HTTPS://DSG.COM/1092 to donate.
All of the donations received will benefit the participants of the Louisville Broncos. No Child is turned away who is interested in the program. Donations will help with participant sponsorship, covering players’ fees, gear, and other essential items for the success and safety of each participant.
“This is one way you can make a difference in helping a child,” says Scott.
