Councilman David Tandy hosts 9th Annual Willie Bright Community Resource Fair for District 4

Louisville – Councilman David Tandy will host the 9th Annual Willie Bright Community Resource Fair on Saturday, October 26th at Shelby Park from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Over the years, this event has been an opportunity for the community to come together for fun and learn more about ways to improve their lives and the lives of their family.

“This Community Fair provides information about better health, education opportunity and ways to keep you and your love ones safe,” says Tandy. “As people meet new friends and get to know their neighbors, it also provides some pretty valuable information in a wide range of areas.”

The Community Resource Fair will offer assistance and information in the following areas:

· Healthy Living

· Health Screening

· College Admission

· Career Preparation

· Public Safety

· The Affordable Care Act & Enrollment.

The Councilman has invited the following groups to provide information about the areas the Community Resource Forum: the Center for Neighborhoods, University of Louisville, Norton’s Healthcare, UPS – Metro College, Accident Victims Alliance, Healing place, LMPD, Louisville Fire and Rescue, Kentucky Voices for Health, Safiyyah Dance Company, Spaulding University, Habitat for Humanity, Spaulding University, KentuckianaWorks, Kenuckians for the Commonwealth, Sickle Cell Awareness, Gilda’s Club, 2 not 1, House of Ruth, New Directions, Legal Aid Society, Elder Serve, NC3, Sullivan University, S.E.I.G.E. KY, Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light, KIPDA Kynect Program and District 4 Neighborhood Associations and Community Groups.

“I want to continue in the spirit of Councilman Bright who always believed that people should come together to create a better community. While that is important, I believe we should always strive to help our community whenever we can,” says Tandy

There will also be refreshments and food available as well as entertainment t throughout the event.
