Councilwoman Hamilton announces the return of the District 5 Friday Night Outdoor Family Film Festival

Louisville – Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton announces summer fun for the whole family when the District 5 “Friday Night Outdoor Family Film Festival returns on July 25th. This year the Festival has expanded to include four neighborhood parks in the 5th District.

“I am pleased to announce the return and the expansion of this free family event for more people to enjoy,” says Hamilton. “We have seen a great response to the Free Family Movies in the years we’ve offered it to the public.”

The 2014 District 5 Friday night Outdoor Family Film Festival offers a wide range of first run features and Hollywood Classics.

All movies begin at dusk. Here is the 2014 schedule of films:

Shawnee Park – Paul Bather Sports Complex Southwestern Parkway

July 25th “Despicable Me 2” - PG

August 1st Monster’s University - G

August 8th Hunger Games Catching Fire – PG 13

Boone Square Park – 1935 Rowan Street

August 15th “Frozen” - PG

Elliott Park – 630 South 28th Street

September 5th “Star Trek” -PG

Chickasaw Park – The Lodge at Greenwood Avenue

on the Southwestern Parkway side

“I want to encourage everyone to come out and join us, bring a lawn chair, picnic basket and insect repellent. This year we have expanded to include showings at four of our neighborhood parks so more people can enjoy a free event with friends and family,” says Hamilton.
