Louisville –The Green Triangle, the 9th District’s sustainability initiative, is looking for volunteers who are interested in greening their community to apply for the Coordination Team.
The Coordination Team serves as the community hub to realize the vision of the Green Triangle:
Imagine Individuals, Businesses and Government working together
to create a 9th District of:
· Green spaces for people to connect with nature and each other;
· Green options for transportation; and
· Green thinking that promotes the conservation of resources and our small neighborhood feel.
“If you are a resident or business owner in the 9th District and are interested in creating a healthy, vibrant and green community, I urge you to learn more about the Green Triangle and apply for the Coordination Team,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh. “We are looking for people with creative ideas and a love of planning to improve sustainability in our community.”
For its next cycle of work the Coordination Team will focus on evaluating and expanding the Green Triangle Business Champion program, developing web content and social media to drive people to the Green Triangle website, and team education on green issues. The team is seeking applications from residents in the 9th District who are passionate about sustainability and committed to serving on this planning-focused team for at least the next six months.
“The Green Triangle Coordination Team has served for two years to create exciting ideas for greening our community,” said Ward-Pugh, “We are looking for some new faces to participate from all over the 9th District to continue this green work.”
Applications for the Coordination Team are due on March 31, 2013. Contact Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109 or email email@example.com to obtain an application. Applications can also be found on the Green Triangle website at www.mygreentriangle.com.
