Louisville – A special group of visitors will travel to Metro Louisville this weekend when 75 Fulbright Scholars begin a three day enrichment seminar on Sunday April 13th.
It is a special event for the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana who are hosts for the seminar.
“We are one of four councils that has been selected to host these Fulbright Scholars and it is a chance to highlight the compassionate mission that Mayor Fischer has made a priority for our city,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) with the WAC.
The Seminar is entitled “Strengthening Communities through Diversity and Action.” Scholars from around the world will interact with various community leaders and other groups to see how Metro Louisville began its efforts to change into a compassionate city.
“This is also an opportunity to showcase the people and places that we call home.” says Ward-Pugh. “While we are working to make sure everyone has a great experience, it is important that our visitors interact with people to understand what we are all about. It should be an enriching experience for everyone.”
During their visit, the Fulbright Scholars will take a cruise on the Historic Belle of Louisville and there will be opportunities to go out and engage the public.
