River Metals Recycling Offers Incentives for 9th District Residents
Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) is announcing an opportunity for 9th District Residents to get green for going green. River Metals Recycling (RMR) and the 9th District Green Triangle are partnering to offer incentives for 9th District residents to recycle metal from December 14 - 21, which corresponds with junk pick up in the District.

17th Annual “Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue” returns to District 9
It’s the chance to celebrate the holiday season on a trolley or in a carriage. It’s a time to take a nice holiday walk with your family pet or sit back and enjoy the sounds of the season on one of Metro Louisville’s well established neighborhood streets. “Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue” returns to mark the holiday season on Saturday, December 8th.

New park dedicated in Butchertown in honor of neighborhood leader Karen Lynch
The Butchertown area has a new neighborhood park dedicated to a woman who devoted her life to making the area a wonderful place to live, work and play. On Saturday, Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9), residents and others dedicated the triangular park located at Brownsboro Road and Story Avenue in honor of Karen Lynch, businesswoman and community activist for Butchertown.

Ward Pugh encourages all women to get a mammogram as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month in Octobe
In an effort to spread the word that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) is encouraging all women in Metro Louisville and the surrounding areas to get a mammogram.

“Brownsboro Road Diet” selected as one of top Public Works Projects in Kentucky for 2012
The goal was to make a congested stretch of road in Metro Louisville safer and increase pedestrian access at an efficient cost. After years of planning and a few months of construction, a .4 mile section of Brownsboro Road has a new sidewalk and traffic pattern. The project has now been honored as an innovative way to improve traffic flow and safety in a cost effective way.
