Beautification Projects

-Six Mile Lane Overpass Beautification-

The money set aside in the FY11 budget will be enough money to complete this project. This project will make improvements to the train trestle at Six Mile Lane and Breckenridge Lane. The improvements also include new railing and tearing down fence, re-painting, aesthetic cover for the bridge and landscaping. The work on the overpass should be completed by the Spring of 2012.

 - Buechel Streetscape Project-

This project calls for an improved steetscape in the Buechel area. The project will span Bardstown road from Hikes Lane to the Buchel By-pass. Plans call for improvement to sidewalks, landscaping, curbing, landmarks (a clock), bike paths and other improvements along this mile stretch of Buechel. Cost estimates on the project have been set just over 1 million dollars. The $600,000.00 given to the project in the FY11 capital budget will pay for phase 1 of the project.
