LMPD Introduces Crime Mapping Program

The Louisville Metro Police Department now has a new online crime mapping tool called MetroWatch, part of the Keep Louisville Safe program. The new tool allows citizens to go online and map crimes that have occurred in their neighborhoods during the past 30 days.
By typing in a single address or an intersection, citizens can search crimes in the area. Those crimes include: assaults, auto thefts, burglaries, homicides, robberies, thefts, thefts from vehicles and vandalism. Users may also access the exact location where the crime occurred and find out how many incidents were reported to the police. A Crime Tips link will let the user report information directly to the police. The crime mapping tool can only search incidents occurring in Louisville Metro and does not include crimes occurring in smaller cities such as St. Matthews or Shively. Sex crimes and domestic incidents are also excluded from the search feature so victims of those crimes cannot be identified. For more information, click on the following link: Police Mapping

(Message Printed on behalf of E-ON US)

Want to better understand and control your electricity usage?
Louisville Gas and Electric Company residential and small commercial customers are encouraged to sign up for one of 2,000 spots in its new pilot program that helps customers do just that.
The “Responsive Pricing and Smart Meter Pilot Program” provides customers the latest technology to understand and control their electricity use. It also gives customers an opportunity to reduce their electricity bill by simply shifting a portion of their electricity use to times when overall consumption is typically lower.
To ensure accurate testing, customers in the pilot will receive various types of equipment designed to help customers control and reduce their electricity usage. One particular device is a portable Energy Usage display that looks similar to a digital clock, but allows the customer to see, in real time, their electricity usage and the approximate cost associated with it. With the new technology, customers can also control their thermostat from the internet or their BlackBerry®.
Spots are limited so interested customers should visit our website at www.eon-us.com or call 1- (866) 749-6938

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
(Printed on behalf of the American Cancer Society)

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. More than just the name of a walk, it describes the amazing progress to defeat this disease. This is your opportunity to join your community to celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about early detection and prevention, and raise money to fund lifesaving research and to support programs to help us reach a day when no one will have to hear the words “You have breast cancer".
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than an event; it is a rallying cry to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. Since 1993, 67,000 walkers across the Kentuckiana area have collected more than $3.1 million to help fight breast cancer through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events. This year, we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at Waterfront Park on October 28, 2007. For more information visit their website here
