Biography

Robert “Bob” Henderson was elected to the first Louisville Metro Council in November 2002. He was re-elected to a four year term in November of 2004. He represents the neighborhoods of Valley Station, Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley Gardens, Valley Village, Medora, and Kosmosdale.

He is currently a member of the following Metro Council Committees;Rules, Ethics & Appointments, Parks, Libraries & Cultural Acitvies and Minority Affairs.

He is a retired assistant general foreman for CSX Railroad and is retired from Henderson Consulting and Henderson Contracting. He graduated from Valley High School and served in the U.S. Army and the U. S. Marine Reserves.

His civic involvement includes serving as a leader of Junior Achievement, and as a vocational advisor to inmates at the Roederer Correctional Complex, LaGrange Correctional Complex and and Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. He is a member of the American Legion, PRP Business Association, Southwest Festival Committee, and Valley Station Business Association and is a former council member at Our Lady Help of Christians Church and has taken an active role in the cleanup of local junkyards. Henderson has been involved in investigating the zoning legality of adult entertainment bookstores on Dixie Highway.

He is a lifelong resident of Valley Station. Bob and his wife Patsy attend church at Our Lady Help of Christians in Valley Station. He is a past member of Riverport Community and St. Timothy Churches. 

He has been married to Patsy for 44 years, and they have three children: Thomas, Cynthia, and Robin.
