Councilman Glen E. Stuckel was elected to the first Louisville Metro Council in November 2002. He represents the suburban cities of Bancroft, Briarwood, Coldstream, Creekside, Fincastle, Graymoor-Devondale, Hickory Hill, Lyndon, Meadowbrook Farm, Meadowvale, Moorland, Old Brownsboro Place, Plantation, Rolling Hills, Westwood and Worthington Hills.
Glen is President of Glen E. Stuckel Builder, Inc., a residential building and remodeling firm. He has served as president of both the Home Builders Association of Louisville and the Kentucky Home Builders Association. In 2002 and 2003, he served as a vice president of the National Association of Home Builders. Not only has Glen been voted Home Builder of the Year twice in Louisville and once for the state of Kentucky, he has also been named Remodeler of the Year for both Louisville and Kentucky.
Glen has a long history of public service. As a clown-magician, he ahs performed for thousands of children and adults at orphanages, schools, hospitals nursing homes and churches. He has appeared at various functions for the Red Cross, The Healing Place, Kosair Shrine Temple, the Salvation Army, and the Organ Donors Society. He has also received the Habitat for Humanity “Golden Hammer Award” for his participation and supervision in building 12 homes. The Louisville Board of Realtors has honored him with its highest award, the “John R. Carpenter Humanitarian Award” for his service to this community.
Glen is also an elder, choir member and Sunday School teacher at Hurstbourne Christian Church. Married since 1957, he and his wife, Joy, reside in Indian Springs. They have three children and four grandsons.
