The students of Stephen Foster Academy will be greeted this Friday, February 13th at their school by a new principal, Councilwoman Judith Green (D-1).
“I am honored to be a Principal for a Day,” says Green. “I am looking forward to talking with students and teachers and happy to return to Stephen Foster to reward one group of students for their hard work.”
In 2008, Stephen Foster was one of several schools in the First District that participated in Constitution Day. As a way of rewarding their work, Councilwoman Green is throwing a Pizza Party for the Fifth Grade Class.
The Principal of the Day program invites community leaders to shadow a principal to understand what it takes to not only run a school but educate children. Principal Susan Quinlan will assist Green during the day.
“It is important that all of us understand what issues are facing our children and their education,” says Green. “As local leaders, this is a chance to see how well the education system is operating.”
Stephen Foster Academy is located at 1401 South 41st Street.
