Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D) 2 has announced a new day and time for a community meeting in the Newburg and Norfolk area after a tentative date in February was postponed due to bad weather.

“I appreciate everyone’s patience with this and I want everyone to know my office and Metro Government are ready to meet with everyone in the district who wants to ask about a concern or problem,” says Shanklin.

The District 2 Community Meeting will be held at the Newburg Community Center, 4810 Exeter Avenue beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday, March 20^th.

Representatives of Louisville Metro Police, Neighborhoods, IPL and MSD will also be on hand to answer questions from those who come out to the forum.

"I have found these community meetings are a great way to get out and listen to people," says Shanklin. "We have many programs going on in Newburg and this is a chance for the community to find out about the changes we are making to make our community a better place to live.”
