Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9), working with the Crescent Hill Community Council, has announced a special clean up on the north side of Lexington road on Saturday, April 18th.
“I am pleased that there are so many who want to help in this effort,” says Ward-Pugh. “We are going to focus on an area that needs some attention.”
The volunteers will focus their effort on Lexington Road from Top Hill Rd to Cross Hill Road, just East of the I-64 ramp. For safety reasons, only one lane of traffic will be open in the north side..
“Lexington Road is a corridor to downtown and we wanted to spruce it up for the upcoming Derby events,” says Ward-Pugh. “This area is also very close to a major entrance of Cherokee Park and some established neighborhoods in the District.”
The cleanup will get underway from 9:00am until 12:00pm
The volunteers were organized by Mary Jo Dike, of the Cochran Hill area of Crescent Hill.
Coffee is being donated by Heine Bros.
