Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge is once again ready to help the children of District 3 get ready for another school year with a fun “Back to School” event on Wednesday, August 11th.
“For the last three years, I have been happy to partner with the Mount Zion Life Enrichment Center to make sure our children get off on the right foot when it comes to starting school,” says Woolridge. “It is going to be another fun year.”
The “Back to School” event will get under way from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Center located at 1472 Dixie Highway.
The program includes free back packs and school supplies for needy children in the area on a first come first serve basis by the Center. The event will also include information about the new school year, free haircuts and additional information for families from various community agencies.
There will also be food, music and games for the whole family.
“It is important that every community value the education of children,” says Woolridge. “Events such as this are an opportunity to have a little fun near the end of summer and at the same time look ahead to the beginning of school. It is a great opportunity for parents.”
