Councilman Bob Henderson will extend a helping hand to students in District 14 who may not be able to afford the supplies needed to start a new school year.

“I will be working with the schools in the district to use money from my Neighborhood Development Funds for children who may need some assistance,” says Henderson.

Each School in District 14 will receive $500 from Henderson’s office to be used for supplies. The schools are:

Eisenhower Elementary

Wilkerson Traditional Elementary

Dixie Elementary

Johnsontown Road Elementary

Watson Lane Elementary

Sanders Elementary

Frost Middle School

Valley High School.

“Many children are fortunate in these tough economic times,” says Henderson. “Some families are struggling though and this might help ease some of the financial burden when it comes to their child’s education.”
