Councilwoman Judith Green (D-1) has a date on Thursday, October 30th to help the Southwick Community Center have some fun on Halloween.

“Last year, this center saw some 300 children have fun in a safe place for trick or treating,” says Green. “I am hoping parents will again bring their children out for another night of fun.”

The party will get underway at the Southwick Community Center from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The Center is located at 3621 Southern Avenue.

“I plan to dress and have some fun with the children and their parents,” says Green. “But I consider this a safe alternative to children being out on the streets and I believe the Center has gone a long way in making sure everyone will have fun.”

Dressed in costume, Councilwoman Green will greet kids and parents as well as hand out Halloween candy. There will also be a dance, Karate exhibition, games, prizes, hotdogs and punch.

The event is free to children in Park DuValle and surrounding areas. The Southwick Community Center is under the direction of Mr. Sammy Moore.

For more information about the Halloween event, contact Councilwoman Green’s office at 574-1101 or the Southwick Community Center at 775-6598.
