Councilwoman Denise Bentley, District 1, and Councilwoman Mary Woolridge, District 3, will attend a groundbreaking ceremony this morning for Southern Star Development Corporation’s C.E. Kirby Family Life Center.

The groundbreaking will take place at 10 a.m. at 2313 Algonquin Parkway. Parking is available at the Southern Star Baptist Church parking lot, at 2304 Algonquin Parkway.

The Family Life Center will serve as a multi-purpose building, and will house programs for children, meeting space and a computer lab.

As Ninth Ward Alderwoman last year, Bentley added $250,000 for the project in the city’s 2002-2003 capital budget.
