Ad hoc committee on smoking ban to meet Monday

The Louisville Metro Council's ad hoc committee studying a proposed smoking ban will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24th, on the third floor of City Hall, 601 W. Jefferson St.
Councilman George Melton, D-15, the committee's chairman, said Monday's meeting will focus on economic development issues. Guests will include Alex Waldrop of Churchill Downs; Jason Underwood of Greater Louisville, Inc.; Andrew Hyland, who has studied the economic impact of New York City's Smoke-Free Air Act; and Paul Coomes, a professor of economics at the University of Louisville.
Future meetings will focus on health-related issues and alternatives to the proposed smoking ban.
