Responding to concerns from residents and businesses about increased robberies and assaults, Councilman Tom Owen is sponsoring additional police patrols during the holidays along the Bardstown Road/ Baxter Avenue corridor.

Owen, D-8, appropriated $5,000 from his district's Neighborhood Development Funds for the extra patrols, which began the day after Thanksgiving and will run until Saturday, Dec. 27th.

Police, including ATV and bike patrols, will provide extra security in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue and the neighborhoods behind it; along the Baxter/ Bardstown Road corridor; and alleys adjacent to the corridor.
