Council members help sponsor children's holiday party

Nine members of the Louisville Metro Council are helping to sponsor PRIDE's 31st annual Christmas Party, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Willie's Velvet Rose, 519 E. Jefferson Street.
The party is free and open to children ages 1-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Children ages 1-6 will be admitted between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and children ages 7-12 will be admitted between noon and 2 p.m. Up to 600 children are expected for each session. Special prizes will include a tricycle, 10-speed bike, and McDonald's and Value City gift certificates.
Sponsors include council members Denise Bentley, D-1; Barbara Shanklin, D-2; Mary Woolridge, D-3; Willie Bright, D-4; Cheri Bryant Hamilton, D-5; George Unseld, D-6; Cyril Allgeier, D-10; Ron Weston, D-13; and Dan Johnson, D-21.
