A quick response from the McMahan Fire Department rescued a wedding during a storm that left many without power in July.

The storm caused a power outage in the middle of a wedding reception for Patrick and Coury Hobbs. With the bride in tears, a family member called the McMahan Fire Department. It came to the rescue by delivering a generator to St. Michael Orthodox Church.

Councilman Kevin Kramer, R-11, and Councilwoman Ellen Call, R-26, will honor the McMahan Fire Department officials with a proclamation at tonight’s council meeting.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.
