Councilman Tom Owen announced today that the Transportation/ Public Works Committee will hold a public hearing on the proposal to create a residential parking permit program. The hearing will be held during the next regular meeting of the committee, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 in the Council Chambers, third floor of City Hall, 601 W. Jefferson St.

Persons interested in speaking may sign up beginning one hour prior to the hearing, and speakers will have up to 3 minutes to address the committee. There will be a limit of 15 speakers.

The committee is not expected to vote on the proposal, sponsored by Councilmen Owen, D-8, and George Unseld, D-6, at Tuesday's meeting.
