Louisville Metro Councilman Glen Stuckel, R-17, is sponsoring a community terrorism awareness session at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Republic Bank located at 9600 Brownsboro Road.
Lieutenant John Mills with the Louisville Metro Police Department will give a 45-minute presentation called “Terrorism Awareness for Communities.”
District 17 residents are invited to attend the training session, which is designed to make citizens in the community more aware of where acts of terrorism could occur and how to report suspicious activity to various law enforcement agencies. Mills made a similar presentation to the Metro Council in April.
He is one of 15 law enforcement trainers from the Kentucky Regional Community Policing Institute at Eastern Kentucky University certified to perform this training.
The program is funded by a grant from the Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services and the U.S. Department of Justice.
