Sixth District Councilman George Unseld will help sponsor the Homeless Men's Forum and Picnic, an annual event offering homeless men dinner and access to resources to help them regain self sufficiency.

The picnic, coordinated by the Coalition for the Homeless, will be held from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Central Park, rain or shine. (Dinner will be served at 4 p.m.)

In addition to the cookout and music provided by the Wayside Choir, participants will have the opportunity to register to vote, and receive information about veteran's benefits and resources available to homeless veterans in the community; legal matters; and AIDS awareness and prevention.

Volunteers from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work and the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will provide food service.
