Councilman Weston to sponsor storm damage clean up of Jefferson Memorial Forest

Councilman Ron Weston and Metro Parks will sponsor a clean up of the Jefferson Memorial Forest from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, June 19, to clear debris from the recent storms at the Horine section of the forest. Persons interested in participating should meet in the main parking lot of the Horine section, 12304 Holsclaw Hill Road.
Volunteers should wear long pants, sturdy shoes and gloves, and bring a small pruning saw or clippers, if possible.
Lunch and drinks will be provided by Councilman Weston, D-13, and volunteers will receive a voucher for a free 1/3 rick of firewood when reserving a campsite at the forest.
