Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton and the District 5 Advisory Committee invite community groups, block watch clubs, scout troops and sports teams to join them in a graffiti removal project from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Port-Shaw Building at 38th and Market streets, where they will be given supplies and locations to be cleaned. Residents are asked to contact Councilwoman Hamilton's office at 574-1105 and report graffiti locations prior to Saturday.

Councilwoman Hamilton said that in addition to cleaning up the neighborhoods, the graffiti removal will act as a crime deterrent for the community.
