Councilman Jim King wants residents of the Schnitzelburg neighborhood to beat crime with a Club.

The 10th District Councilman and 4th Division of Louisville Metro Police will distribute up to 100 of the auto theft prevention devices from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Aug. 27 in the parking lot of St. Elizabeth's Church, 1020 E. Burnett Ave.

Participants will also have the opportunity to have the vehicle identification number etched on their car's windshield.

The Club giveaway, funded by an appropriation from the 10th District Neighborhood Development Fund and LMP, is designed to curb the recent rise in crime and auto thefts in the neighborhood.

No reservations are required, and Clubs and etching will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information, contact Rob Holtzmann in Councilman King's office at 574-1110.
