Councilman Tom Owen is inviting residents to TARC around the Block with him Saturday, Oct. 22, touring the 8th District from the vantage of public transportation and discussing issues of interest and concerns to them
Councilman Owen has commissioned a TARC bus to chauffeur constituents and him around the district for the community meeting on wheels. Two trips are scheduled, each departing from and returning to the Urban Government Center, 810 Barret Ave. and lasting 1 ½ hours. The first tour will depart at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 11:30 a.m. A total of 70 spaces are available, with each session limited to 35 people. Walk-ons will be allowed as available, but reservations will be honored first.
Officials from various metro departments will also ride along to address issues of importance to Highlands area residents.
To reserve a spot, contact Councilman Owen's office at 574-1108. Interested residents will be asked what topics he or she would like to discuss; the route will partly be determined by the topics identified by attendees.
