Eighth District Councilman Tom Owen will be a guest on the State of Affairs radio program, discussing "front porching" and the "leisurely art of sitting, mingling, and talking on the front porch to break the cycle of isolation and hurry in favor of stepping out and slowing down." The program will air from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 on WFPL, 89.3 FM.

Councilman Owen will be joined by John Buchino, a local medical doctor and author of Porching: A Humorous Look at America's Favorite Pastime.

The program comes in advance of Front Porch Tuesdays, scheduled for April 12th and April 19th in the Highlands for residents to set aside time to interact with neighbors and strengthen the community. Businesses along the Bardstown/ Baxter/ Grinstead corridors are also commemorating the event with specials those nights, to encourage folks to stroll their neighborhoods.
