Weekly fitness classes for senior citizens will begin this week in District 13, Councilman Ron Weston announced today.
Councilman Weston worked with Metro Parks, Metro Health Department and KIPDA to set up the free fitness program for seniors.
"These classes fill an important need for our seniors," Weston said. "Now they have a place and a program of their own to help them stay healthy and stay active."
All classes will be held at the Playtorium, 10616 W. Manslick Rd.
Exercise classes will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, and a walking club will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.
A yoga class is expected to be added soon, as well as scrapbooking and arts and crafts classes.
Classes are open to residents across Louisville Metro.
