Councilwoman Woolridge to take part in women's forum

District 3 Councilwoman Mary Woolridge will join other noted panelists for the Sistah to Sistah Forum, from 5:30 -6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

The forum is part of The Louisville Defender's Women's Conference to Increase Awareness of Important Issues Facing African American Women, which runs from 2-7 p.m. that day.

The forum will focus on topics ranging from women in politics; crime/violence; health care costs; power and influence; entrepreneurship; rearing "boys to men;" economic equality; and others.

In addition to Councilwoman Woolridge, the list of panelists includes Betty Winston Baye, The Courier-Journal; Laura Douglas, LG&E Energy; Alice Houston, Houston-Johnson Inc.; Denise Vasquez Troutman, YMCA of Greater Louisville; and many other notable women in the community.

The forum is free and open to the public.
