District 3 Councilwoman Mary Woolridge has been chosen as one of the recipients of the Louisville Defender Newspaper's Professional Achievement Award.

Annually, the newspaper, in conjunction with its Family and Youth Service Expo program, recognizes individuals who have attained significant achievements or made meaningful contributions to the community.

Woolridge will be honored at the newspaper's Annual Business & Professional Achievement Luncheon, to be held at noon Friday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
