Metro Council President Kevin Kramer will sponsor a self-defense seminar for residents of District 11, Wednesday, February 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The seminar will be conducted by first-degree black belt, Alan Williams, at the New Beginnings Martial Arts Studio (McMahan Plaza Besides the Hikes Point Kroger).

“This seminar will give residents the peace of mind, that if confronted with a potentially dangerous situation, they will be ready to act in a way that will help ensure their safety.” - Councilman Kevin Kramer

District 11 residents will be taught defense techniques aimed at preventing muggings and sexual assaults. Instruction will also focus on increasing awareness of potential safety threats. Former assistant Chief of Police Ken Lampe, will also be present and will address women's safety concerns.
