Persons over 65 who live in District 1 will have two opportunities to learn about the MSD rate change and to enroll in the discount prior to a new rate increase set for September.

“This is an opportunity to assist our low income seniors with their MSD bill,” says Councilwoman Judith Green (D) 1. “My office is here to help with a process that may not be an easy task for some in the community.”

The workshop is for applicants 65 years of age or older with a household income of $25,000 or less per year.

It will take place on Monday, September 10^th at The Nia Center, 2900 West Broadway. The workshop will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Those District 1 residents who wish to apply for the discount must bring one document from each of the following categories: IRS Tax return & schedule (filed within the last 12 months) or Social Security Form SSA; Deed or Lease Agreement; Drivers License or Birth Certificate.

“Either of these workshops will be a chance to ask questions about the increase and MSD will be on hand to make sure the application process is explained and how it will apply to a household,” says Green.
