Louisville, KY – Louisville Metro Council’s Animal Control Sub-Committee will meet at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 23 in the Metro Council Chambers (3rd Floor, 601 West Jefferson Street). Sub-committee members will conduct their second informational meeting to review Louisville Metro’s Animal Control Ordinance (passed in December of 2006).
The Animal Control Sub-Committee meeting will include testimony from Dr. Christine Zink, a professor in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Zink is a renowned expert in the field of veterinary pathology. Testimony will also be heard from Mr. Butch Schroyer, D.V.M; Mr. Schroyer is the owner of a Lexington, KY veterinary clinic with 28 years of experience. The sub-committee plans to meet several times during the summer to hear testimony from a range of professionals on the effectiveness of Louisville’s Animal Control Ordinance. The sub-committee will also discuss changes that could be used to improve the current ordinance.
