Louisville, KY – Metro Councilmen Stuart Benson (District 20) and Robin Engel (District 22) announce plans for a Grand Opening Ceremony for Charlie Vettiner Park’s new dog run on Saturday, August 25 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The Grand Opening Celebration will be held at the newly opened dog run, which is located behind the tennis courts at the park. The park has been built using $10,000 in funds raised by the Louisville Dog Run Association (LDRA), $10,000 in Neighborhood Development Funds from the Offices of Councilman Benson and Engel and $24,000 the Metro Parks Department for concrete at the park.
All Louisville residents are encouraged to come to this grand opening ceremony. Refreshments for all visitors (human and animal) along with a drawing for a free dog obedience training along with other dog treats will be held throughout the event.
Note: The Charlie Vettiner Dog Run will be maintained by the LDRA with users of the park being required to pay an annual permit fee of $15 for your pet. Funds raised through this permitting process are being used to pay for the upkeep of the park.
