With Summer just around the corner, Metro Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3 announces a new program for young people in the district: free admission to the Algonquin Pool throughout the summer.
“For many of our youth the Algonquin Pool is one of “the” things to do during the summer months,” says Woolridge. “I want to help families with the cost of using the pool and encourage young people to have a fun summer.”
With funding provided by Woolridge, the Algonquin Pool will offer free admission to the first 25 youth, 17 years and under, during the summer. The program kicks off this Saturday, May 24th and runs through August 9th. The free admission program will be offered through out the week except on Tuesdays and Sundays.
The Algonquin pool is open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm on weekdays, 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday. It is located at 1614 Cypress Street. In order to get into the pool, youth need a picture ID.
