Councilwoman Tina Ward- Pugh (D-9) will join other environmental activists and community leaders for the 2009 Winter Green Convene at Glassworks for discussions on a wide variety of environmental and sustainability issues.
“This event will give the public a good sense of the growing green movement
taking place in our community,” said Ward-Pugh. “I look forward to leading and participating in discussions that are not only good for Metro Louisville but good for our planet as well.”
Ward-Pugh will lead one of many focus groups for the Green Convene: Politics – Realities & Strategies. Other focus groups will cover air quality, health care, transportation, climate change, neighborhoods and other areas.
“It is encouraging to see so many different groups looking at ways to be good stewards of our environment,” said Ward-Pugh. “The public should understand, that going Green means more than converting a building. Rather, it is a process of improving our quality of life, not only for ourselves, but for our future generations.”
The conference will get underway on Friday, February 20th and Saturday 21st. Metro Council President David Tandy (D-4) and Councilman Tom Owen (D-8) will also attend.
