Once again, a wide range of businesses along Dixie Highway are highlighting what they have to offer when it comes to new products, services and savings.

The 10th annual Discover Dixie Business EXPO is set for Thursday, October 8th at the Dixie Manor Shopping Center, 6801 Dixie Highway from 12:00pm to 6:30pm.

“This Expo has grown over the years as a showcase for Dixie Highway. It is just as important to our economy as any business in Metro Louisville,” says Councilman Bob Henderson (D-14). “Discover Dixie needs our support and everyone should come out and see what this Expo has to offer.”

Discover Dixie features 70 exhibitors and is presented by the Pleasure Ridge Park, Shively and Valley Station Area Business Associations. One of its main goals is to expose new products and services to consumers in the area.

“As we work to ensure a strong economy with new and existing businesses, the key is to let everyone know these businesses can compete with any business in Louisville Metro,” says Councilman Rick Blackwell (D-12).

The event will also feature a fundraiser for the Shively and Southwest Community Ministries. A donation of a new personal hygiene item or new household product will entitle the donor to a one chance ticket for the Grand Prize drawing of up to $500.

“" I am proud to have these businesses in Shively and Southwest Jefferson County,” says Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D-3). “Aside from offering products and services, they offer their help to others.”

Discover Dixie will also highlight resources and networking in the area. The Expo will also provide health screening and valuable information during the event.

“People tend to forget that Dixie Highway is also an important health resource to many people in the southwestern part of Louisville Metro,” says Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13). “Jewish Hospital and Norton Healthcare have made major commitments to this area.”
