The Iroquois Amphitheatre is the place to this weekend, when music will fill the air as a great tradition returns for its 34 year. The Kentucky Music Festival will get underway with two days of music and artists from all over the country
“I want to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy good music with some of the most talented artists in our area,” says Councilman Dan Johnson (D-21). “This summer, many are rediscovering the Amphitheatre and this event truly showcases its state of the art setting.”
Johnson is a sponsor of the event this weekend. His office has helped provide funding for use of the Amphitheatre. The Louisville Dulcimer Society and the Louisville Country Dancers are also sponsors of the event.

The event also hosts many workshops and jam sessions for anyone who wishes to attend.
The Seventh Annual Kentucky State Mountain and Hammered Dulcimer Championship contests will also be hosted by the Kentucky Music Weekend This event will be held on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon, with the first place winners receiving a new dulcimer or hammered dulcimer, trophy, plus entry fees to the Walnut Valley National Contests in Winfield, Kansas.
“So if you play and instrument, want to learn more about music or just want to kick back and listen, this is the place to be for the weekend,” says Johnson.
