Woolridge (D) 3 will travel to Johnson Middle School to get a first hand look at how school children learn about the arts with the help of Actor’s Theater of Louisville. 5/8/2008 Flood set for Okolona Spring Clean-up on Saturday May 17th Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D) 24 is calling for volunteers to rally on Saturday, May 17th when this year’s Okolona Spring Clean-up gets underway. The Clean-up begins at 10:00am. Volunteers and their groups should meet in the parking lot of Southern High School. Groups and teams will be picking up trash and debris along Okolona’s streets and parks. 5/6/2008 “A Celebration of Community” to help District 5 get healthy on Saturday, May 10th In an effort to promote a healthier neighborhood, “A Celebration of Community” will offer a wide range of free medical screenings to residents of Metro Council District 5. Like many farmers across the country, they relied on animals to do the needed work. On May 10th, the public will get a chance to relive that part of America’s rural heritage when “Rush & Jessee’s Old Time Field Day” gets underway in District 14.

Mr. Burnside was asked to present an historical view of the present pension plan as well as any proposed changes to the plan 4/21/2008 Iroquois Park storm clean up part of a public private partnership When unusual storms moved through Metro Louisville in January, Iroquois Park saw damage when several huge trees were blown over on Palatka and Dogwood near the riding stables. Now, neighbors in the area along with Deweese Tree Service want to give Metro Parks a hand in cleaning up the damage.
