Proposed map of the County Commission Districts with voting precincts
At the request of the commission, LOJIC drew the above proposed map. This map follows the directions given by the commission to LOJIC. This map sets out the following information: 1) The boundaries shown are those for the proposed three county commissioner, constable, and justice of the peace districts. 2) The residences of the nine incumbent office holders are also shown on this map. 3) The estimated population of each proposed district is shown. This population number arises from the 2010 U.S. Census data for Jefferson County. This data shows that the populations of the proposed districts come very close to the ideal district population of 247,032.
The proposed district boundary lines were arrived at by moving voting precincts. Those moved precincts are shown on the map. See the legend in the upper left hand corner of the map. The following is a list of the precincts moved in the proposed map:
· Precincts moved from A District to B District-- G103, H103, H132, H133.
· Precincts moved from A District to C District-- H131, L110, L113, L115, L117, M139, M140, M141, M142, M143, M144, M145, M147, N134, N135.
· Precincts moved from B District to C District-- J101, J104, K118, K125.
On August 25, 2011, the Louisville Metro Council adopted Ordinance No. 181 Series 2011. This ordinance reapportions and redistricts Jefferson County’s three county commissioner districts. It sets new boundaries for these districts. This ordinance took effect with the Mayor’s signature on August 29, 2011
