COUNCILWOMAN FLOOD, METRO PARKS DEDICATE NEW PLAYGROUND IN FARMAN PARK
LOUISVILLE (October 28, 2004) – Councilwoman Madonna Flood joined representatives of Metro Parks and neighborhood residents on Thursday, October 28, 2004, to dedicate new playground equipment at Farman Park. Farman Park sits between South Park Road and Farman Court, just west of Lazy Run Road.
Councilwoman Flood, D-24, worked to ensure the playground project was included in last year's budget, and appropriated an additional $2,395 from the 24th District Neighborhood Development Fund to resurface the basketball court at the park.
The playground equipment features four slides, ladders and interactive components. The project also includes a new paved walkway for accessibility. Because of weather delays, the playground is receiving finishing touches this week.
Farman Park is one of six new playgrounds Metro Parks expects to complete this fiscal year. The total cost for the project, excluding the basketball court repaving, is $23,307.80.
