Dates set for Summer Chamber Series

Thursday July 2, 2009

Six shows have been set for the Mayor’s Summer Chamber Concert Series, which will bring professional musicians from the Louisville Orchestra to selected local libraries and community centers across the city. The Louisville Orchestra, Metro Parks and Mayor Jerry Abramson have partnered for the third consecutive year for the performances, which will take place beginning July 6 and continuing through the month.

“We are excited to be able to partner with the Louisville Orchestra and bring these inspiring programs into the neighborhoods,” Mayor Jerry Abramson said. “With performances at several different sites, residents are going to have the opportunity to listen to world class music almost literally in their own backyard.”

Thanks to the partnership, the performances will be offered free of charge. Those who want to attend and have any special requests for seating should call the facility in which the performances are taking place.
