Metro Parks offering 4th of July weekend golf package
Thursday July 2, 2009
In order to encourage local families to visit their municipally-owned golf courses, Metro Parks is offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses during the 4th of July weekend.
For only $20, a family of up to four members can play nine holes at any Metro Parks course. The $20 includes greens and cart fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4:30 p.m. on three days: Friday, July 3; Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5.
“We’re excited to bring this promotion back for another round,” said Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz. “This weekend, traditionally, is a time when families spend a lot of time together, and there’s no better place to do that than on the links.”
Metro Parks golf courses are open from daylight to dark seven days a week, and each course has a fully stocked pro shop. Private lessons are available from a PGA Professional at each clubhouse. Metro Parks operates 9-hole golf courses in Cherokee Park and Crescent Hill Park, along with Waverly Park’s Bobby Nichols Golf Course. There are 18-hole courses in Iroquois Park, Long Run Park, Seneca Park, Shawnee Park, Sun Valley Park and Charlie Vettiner Park.
