Extreme Park to be closed August 17-19 for repairs

The Louisville Extreme Park
will be closed from Tuesday, August 17 to Thursday, August 19 for repairs.
During those three days, Metro Parks crews will clean graffiti from the bowls and surrounding areas, paint, replace signs, repair the vertical ramp, and perform maintenance to the grounds around the Extreme Park. Security personnel will be on site to ensure no one uses the park during the closing.
Metro Parks typically closes the park for a few days each year to perform similar work and maintenance. The park is scheduled to re-open on Friday, August 20.
About the Louisville Extreme Park:
The Louisville Extreme Park is one of the nation's most highly-regarded skate parks, with signature features that include a 24-foot full pipe. The park offers a balance of street-style, transition style and vert. The public skatepark is owned by Louisville Metro Government and operated by Metro Parks. The park, completed in April 2002, includes 40,000 square feet of outdoor concrete skating surface and a wooden vert ramp. The park is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
